Why do I have to provide my bank account information?

Linking your bank account to your Local First card allows you to make purchases on the Local First card. We ask you for your bank username and password so that we can access your account and routing number without the hassle of you needing to search for your checkbook. This also allows us to confirm your account balances in real time so we can ensure that your Local First card works when you use it. As a security measure, we never see your username or password, and we do not store these in our system. Your account information is encrypted in our databases and can only be decrypted by our software. Support staff cannot see this information and cannot change it for you.
